The Images Papaw Left Me by Jeff Hensley

That Red Camel on my Papaw’s overalls was cooler than Joe Camel ever could have been.  I associated it with everything that I wanted to be when I grew up, and it became (for a while) an emblem for myself.  Tobacco is a myth, but there is power in the myth.  Often not understood, less often articulated, but felt by every child whose every known a hero (or made one up).  Felt as deeply and strongly as the Greeks felt Prometheus burning.
